Yasuharu Ishii (石井 康晴 (いしい やすはる) , Ishii Yasuharu, born 1969 in Japan) is Japanese TV drama and film director. Ishii served as the main director of Hana Yori Dango and Hana Yori Dango Returns. In 2008, he directed the movie sequel, Hana Yori Dango Final. He was also one of directors for Hana Nochi Hare.

Biography

Career

After graduating from Waseda University, he started his career in charge of various game shows and documentary programs. In 1999, he was the assistant director of Heaven Cannot Wait (天国に一番近い男 () , Heaven Cannot Wait). He is best known for directing Hana Yori Dango (2005) and Kurosagi (2006). In 2008, Ishii directed the movie sequels to both shows.
