Qian Wei Shan (Chinese: 錢韋杉; pinyin: Qián Wéishān, born May 7, 1973 in Taipei, Taiwan), also known by her English name Winnie Chien, is a Taiwanese actress and model. She portrayed Teng Tang Jing in Meteor Garden and Meteor Garden II.

Early life[]

Chien was born on May 7, 1973 in Taipei, Taiwan. Her father, Qian Yi Fei (錢一飛, 1948 – 2007) was a national basketball player and coach of the Yulon Luxgen Dinos. She has an elder sister, Qian Wei Ru (錢韋如), a younger sister, Qian Wei Fan (錢韋帆), and a younger brother, Qian Wei Cheng (錢韋成).

She graduated from the Department of Commercial Design of Ming Chuan University. After graduation, Chien worked part-time as a model and flight attendant.

In the 1990s, Chien began appearing in several commercials for Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong. She participated in KG Telecom's popular "Lin Da" (琳達) and "Qing Song Da: Ai De Xuan Ze" (輕鬆打─愛的選擇) commercials in 1999. Chien began anchoring TVBS's noon news, before starring in Three-line Chasing Husband (追夫三人行; 2001) with Carol Cheng and Jessie Chang. The same year, she had a supporting role as Teng Tang Jing in Meteor Garden. She reprised the role in the 2002 drama, Meteor Garden II. Chien also appeared in Love Scar (2002), The Pawnshop No. 8 (2003), Magic Ring, and Say Yes Enterprise (both 2004).

After marriage and later motherhood, Chien lessened her work in show business. In 2005, Chien starred in the film, Perfect Match, as Nai Er. She also periodically hosted various variety and talk shows until 2015. Chien appeared as Ren Qing Qing in The Girl in Tassel Earring (戴流蘇耳環的少女) in 2015.

Personal life[]

Chien married basketball player Qiu Zong Zhi (邱宗志) on June 21, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada.[1] On September 12, 2006, she gave birth to her first son, Qiu Jing (邱靖; English name: Joshua).[2] Her second son, Qiu Ding (邱頂; English name: Nathan), was born on July 25, 2009.
