Tontawan Tantivejakul (Thai: ต้นตะวัน ต้นติเวชกุล, born November 7, 2000 in Bangkok, Thailand), also known as Tu (Thai: ตู), is an actress and model signed with GMMTV. In her acting debut, she played Gorya, the lead female role in the drama, F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Tantivejakul was born on November 7, 2000[1] in Bangkok.[2] She is the younger sister of actor and musician, Tonhon Tantivejakul. She attended Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School for elementary and received her entire secondary education from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School. Currently, she is studying dentistry at Chulalongkorn University.[3][4] Her mother is a professor at Chulalongkorn teaching communication arts, while her father works in advertising.[5]

Career[]

In early 2020, Tantivejakul appeared with Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul in Ink Waruntorn Paonil's music video, "Disappointed" (เหนื่อยใจ).[6] Later that year, she was chosen to star in F4 Thailand as the female lead, Gorya.[7] Tantivejakul made her debut opposite Vachirawit Chivaaree, along with Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, Jirawat Sutivanichsak, and Hirunkit Changkham.[8] The series began airing in late 2021.[9] In late 2022, she reunited with Sutivanichsak to play love interests in the episode, "Zero in the Moonlight," of Magic of Zero.[10] Tantivejakul starred as Kongkwan in 10 Years Ticket with Ohm Pawat Chittsawangdee from late 2022 to early 2023.[11] She also had a guest role in Midnight Museum in early 2023.[12] Tantivejakul was cast in GDH's upcoming film The Chinese Family.[13]

  • On the day her casting was announced, she posted a photo on Instagram with the caption in Japanese, " はじめまして" ("I am glad to meet you​").[14][15]
  • She modelled for F4 Thailand costar Vachirawit Chivaaree's brand Astro Stuffs in September 2020.[16] In February 2021, she was heavily featured in the brand's "V-Day" collection.[17]
  • Tantivejakul celebrated part of her twenty-first birthday on the set of F4 Thailand.[18]
  • She was a special guest at Shooting Star Concert held on July 23, 2022. She performed "In the Wind" with Jirawat Sutivanichsak, "One Last Cry" by herself,[19] and "Nighttime" with Chivaaree.[20]
  • Tantivejakul wished her character, Gorya, a happy birthday on September 15, 2022.[21]
  • She reunited with Sutivanichsak for the music video "I Do: A Love Story in Bangkok" by (G)I-dle.[22]

  • Tantivejakul describes herself as a "fangirl" since she follows several K-pop groups, including EXO, NCT, and Red Velvet. She supports Sehun of EXO[23] and NCT members Jisung, Jeno, Jaemin, among others.[24][25] Tantivejakul was also able to speak to Jisung at a virtual fan event.[26]
  • As a child, she was not confident due to her crooked teeth, which were corrected with braces. Her experience influenced her to major in dentistry.[2]

  • She and Jirawat Sutivanichsak played love interests in the anthology series, Magic of Zero (2022).
  • Tantivejakul reunited with Wanwimol Jaenasavamethee and Chanagun Arpornsutinan in 10 Years Ticket (2022).
