Tome (
Biography[]
When the Makino family came to live in Akemahara Fishing Village, Tome allowed them to rent her upstairs room. She was happy at first to have them, but her feelings soon turned sour. Haruo Makino was unable to earn his keep by fishing and thus Tome and the others started seeing the family as "freeloaders."[1] Tsukushi Makino later joined the rest of her family. Tome, having heard the rumors of her having a rich fiance, gave them a bill of 300,000 yen.[2] Later, Tome and the other villagers became suspicious of Tsukushi's relationship to Matsutaro Yoshimatsu. She demanded that the family pay their bill, to which Chieko Makino agreed.[3] In the morning, Tsukasa Domyoji arrived and easily paid it in full.[4]
Personality and traits[]
Tome was a seemingly nice person, though it was all for appearances. She was only nice if it benefited her in some way. For example, she treated the Makino family rudely when Haruo was unable to help out with the fishing. However, when Tsukushi arrived, Tome started being nice again since she thought she would be paid soon. Tome's personality constantly flipped from nice to rude, depending on the situation.
