"The Chessboard" is an episode of the Thai drama, F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, based on the Japanese manga. It aired on March 26, 2022 on GMM 25. The episode was followed by episode fifteen, "The Neverland," on April 2.
When Roselyn returns to Thailand, Gorya finds herself evicted from her home. Roselyn is not done yet and begins targeting Gorya's friends. She agrees to break up with Thyme, who quickly regresses to his old self.
Plot[]
Auntie Yu races to Thyme's room, declaring "Something bad is happening." Meanwhile, Gorya discovers her home being destroyed. Roselyn's secretary pulls up in a car and reveals that the land her house stands on is now owned by the Parama Group. Gorya then answers a call from Roselyn, whom offers to negotiate. Thyme, however, interrupts and refuses his mother's offer. Later, while talking with his friends, Ren speculates that Thyme's mother is doing this because she wants him to "get to work." Gorya visits the flower shop, where Gawao offers her the back room to sleep in. The F4 arrive and help fix up the room. On the rooftop, Gorya thanks Thyme for his support. They nearly kiss until the F3 jokingly interrupt.
The next morning, Thyme helps Gorya at the flower shop. He receives a call from Auntie Yu, who is waiting for him across the street. She reveals that Roselyn has fired her and advises Thyme "Don't waver." Later, at Ren's place, Thyme relays the news. Ren states that Roselyn fired Auntie Yu because she is important to him and Gorya. He has a feeling that "this is far from over." Thyme soon finds out that his credit cards have been suspended and rumors are swirling around that he is being disowned. Kavin and MJ are updating Gorya and Kaning on this, when they hear Gawao shouting. Several men quickly take over the shop. Kaning then learns that her father has been fired. Gorya rushes off to confront Roselyn.
Face-to-face with Roselyn, Gorya promises to "get out of Thyme's life" if she gives her friends their lives back. However, she confidently states "But even if I lose, Thyme will win" since he has changed from the person he used to be. Roselyn's demeanor suddenly changes and she apologizes for what she has done. Her gaze falls on some papers on her desk. Afterwards, Gorya calls Thyme to have him meet her at the place they had their first date. There she tells Thyme that his mother agreed to stop fighting. Later, as they talk about the future, Thyme plans on running Parama Group and "priortiz[ing] people not money." Gorya recalls Roselyn saying that the new Thyme could not survive in the current business world.
It starts to rain and Gorya stays put, working up her courage to say "We should break up." Thyme believes his mother must be behind this. Gorya asserts that his mother has given her a check. In actuality, Roselyn showed her papers regarding her terminal cancer and then begged Gorya to "bring back the old Thyme." Gorya lies to Thyme saying that their relationship has always been about money. He refuses to accept it at first, but is eventually convinced. Gorya returns her necklace, which he swats away. The next morning, Gorya boards a train. She recalls herself desperately retrieving the necklace from a storm drain, causing her to cry. Meanwhile, Roselyn burns the papers about her supposed cancer.
Some time has passed, Kavin and MJ have settled into university life and business is booming at the flower shop. In this happy moment, Kaning misses Gorya and feels guilty for not knowing the province her family has their farm. Meanwhile, Ren searches for Gorya in the rural provinces of Thailand and Thyme demonstrates his ruthless business sense in Bangkok. Tia shows concern for Thyme's behavior and mentions Gorya, which makes him angry. That night, Ren settles into his hotel room. He watches the local news and happens to see Gorya in the background. After a tense a business conference, Thyme returns to his office to find Ren. He shows Thyme the news clip and says "I know where Gorya is."

- The episode wraps up the "Couple Arc" of the manga, covering chapters one hundred and thirty-seven through one hundred and forty, and begins the "Fishing Village Arc." A scene from chapter one hundred and fifty-three is covered, while Thyme's credit cards being suspended is inspired by chapter one hundred and eighty-seven.
- The scenes at Asiatique were filmed the same day as the scenes from episode four.
