"If life is about opening doors to find new things, my door opening has a lot to offer. From a life full of darkness, I can now see more light bit by bit. It seems like I'm getting back to a normal happy life, right?"
Gorya

"The Broken Door" is an installment of F4 Thailand, a Thai drama based on the Japanese manga by Yoko Kamio. The episode aired on January 15, 2022 on GMM 25. It was followed by "The Glass Mask" on January 22.

Gorya and Thyme gradually grow closer after accidentally being locked in a stairwell together. In the meantime, Gorya's father has borrowed money from a loanshark. She decides to handle it, resulting in her brief stint as a bar girl.

Plot[]

Gorya finally arrives to meet Thyme, who has been standing in the rain. He yells at her for making him wait, resulting in them bickering back and forth. The two find a place to dry off, but Thyme remains annoyed. She eventually agrees to stay with him. Thyme and Gorya wander around the park until getting a flier advertising a "lovebird promotion" to watch the sunset. Thyme hesitates upon learning it involves a Ferris wheel. He agrees when Gorya teases him, but ends up throwing up. Gorya feels guilty so she offers to treat him to dinner. Thyme's first choice is too expensive, leading Gorya to drag him to an empty stairwell to talk. When they try to leave, they discover that the door is broken.

Gorya yells for help to no avail. Her and Thyme's phones are also out of commission. Thyme falls towards Gorya and she pushes him away. She then realizes that Thyme is sick and gives him some medicine, despite his stubbornness. With his head on her lap, Gorya gently sponges cool water on his head and arms. The two start talking about their families. Thyme reveals that no one would say anything about him being missing. Gorya asks about the red card game. Thyme says "I'll cancel the red card," before falling asleep. The next morning, Thyme wakes up before Gorya. He decides to sleep a little longer, but a cleaning lady comes in. Thyme takes Gorya home. He tells her "Let's go out again." She jokingly says no.

When Gorya comes home, her mother reveals that her father has fallen victim to a loan shark scam. Gorya promises to "help out." She goes to the loan shark, and offers to pay him two thousand baht and the rest later. He tells her that there is an "easy way" for her to make money. Gorya reluctantly agrees to be a bar girl. An old man tries to touch her, but she stops him saying "No harassment." He calls her a "tough girl." As the night goes on, Gorya asks "Is this what a guy likes?" The old man begins talking about how she should try to "have compassion" for a guy who likes her. She thinks of Thyme. The old man suddenly turns lecherous, offering to show her what a guy wants. Gorya kicks him and quits her job on the spot.

The following Monday, Hana shows Gorya a clip of her and Thyme from their date. She asks if they are dating. Thyme then walks up, claiming that he is dating Gorya and also cancels her red card. He grabs Gorya's hand and she grabs Hana's, before being dragged to the cafeteria. There Kavin and MJ ask Gorya and Thyme about their date. She denies that it was a date, but everything Thyme says seems to contradict this statement. She eventually storms off with Hana. With her gone, Kavin asks Thyme "Are you serious about Gorya?" MJ tells him if he pursues Gorya, his life will become a "mess." Thyme says "If I didn't try, how would I know?" Later, Gorya is sick at home when Thyme makes a surprise visit.

Upon learning his name, Gorya's parents quickly invite Thyme to dinner. Meanwhile, Kavin and MJ bring Kaning over to Kavin's house. Kaning eats one of the sweets offered to her, which Kavin says is four thousand baht. He and MJ talk about Thyme and Gorya, urging Kaning to stop her friend. She asks Kavin for his number and sends him four thousand baht. As she leaves, she tells him that she has faith in Gorya. Outside Gorya's house, Thyme puts a cold compress on her forehead, while telling her a childhood story about him and Ren. As they joke, the gate breaks and Gorya nearly falls with it, but Thyme catches her. They then say goodbye. The next day, the school's cafeteria is covered in photos of Gorya from that bar.
