Taishi Nakagawa (中川 大志 (なかがわ たいし) Nakagawa Taishi, born June 14, 1998 in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese actor and model. Nakagawa is best known for his roles in Kaseifu no Mita, Yakou Kanransha and Minami-kun no Koibito. He played Tenma Hase in the 2018 drama, Hana Nochi Hare.

Biography

Early life

Nakagawa was born on June 14, 1998 in Tokyo.[1] He was scouted in the fourth grade. Nakagawa has belonged to Stardust Promotion since his fifth year in elementary school.[2] His given name comes from the quote "Boys, be ambitious" (少年よ大志を抱け () Shōnen'yo taishi wo idake) by William S. Clark.

Career

His debut was in a 2009 documentary When I Was a Child, reenacting Ikki Sawamura's childhood.[3] His film debut was in Hanjiro the following year.[4] He began modelling for the magazine, Nicola, in their September 2011 issue.[5] Later in 2011, he appeared in Kaseifu no Mita with Nanako Matsushima.[6] Nakagawa played Noboru Yoshikawa in the 2012 remake of Great Teacher Onizuka.[7] He and Hana Sugisaki appeared together in Yakou Kanransha in 2013.[8] The next year, he had major roles in Water Polo Yankees[9] and Hell Teacher Nube.[10]
