Boys Over Flowers Wiki
This television series is a loosely-based, unofficial and/or unlicensed adaptation of Boys Over Flowers. It is not officially connected to the franchise and should not be considered to be.
Not to be confused with Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta (2002 drama).

Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta (abbreviated STJC), previously known as Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta Reborn,[1] is the 2017 remake of the 2002 series of the same name. The series was produced by SinemArt. It stars Natasha Wilona, Verrell Bramasta, Aliando Syarief, and Bryan Domani. After Syarief left the show, Teejay Marquez joined the principal cast.[2]

The original Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta was unofficially adapted from the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden, which was based on Yoko Kamio's manga Boys Over Flowers.[3] The remake made several changes to distance itself from Meteor Garden.[4] It began airing November 13, 2017 on SCTV.[5] The final episode aired on October 28, 2018.[6]

The plot follows Laras (Wilona), a scholarship student, and her tangles with Vino (Bramasta) and his friends.

Laras' (Natasha Wilona) dreams come true when she gets a scholarship to study at Palm University. She wants to change her family's lives for the better and make her father, Samsul (Boy Tirayoh), proud. Unfortunately, Samsul has to leave Jakarta to chase after his former business partner, who cheated him out of money. Laras remains behind and supports herself by getting a part-time job as a delivery person. During one of these deliveries, she is nearly hit by a car, containing Vino (Verrell Bramasta) and Leon (Bryan Domani). This sets off a chain of events that will change her life forever.[7]

Cast at the first meet and greet

Plans for a remake of Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta were formally announced in July 2017 after a list of actors was leaked online.[8] The original series was unofficially adapted from the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden, which was based on Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers.[3] The remake made several changes to the story to differentiate it from Meteor Garden.[4] The principal actors of Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta were later confirmed to be Natasha Wilona, Verrell Bramasta, Aliando Syarief, and Bryan Domani. Wilona and Bramasta previously appeared together on Anak Sekolahan.[9] On December 18, 2017, Syarief suddenly departed the show in the fifty-fourth episode.[10] Filipino actor Teejay Marquez was subsequently added to the cast and made his first appearance in the sixty-sixth episode.[2]

In January 2018, a meet and greet with the cast was held in Jakarta. It was attended by Wilona, Bramasta, Marquez, Ersya Aurelia, and Maureen Daryanani.[11] A second meet and greet was held in Bogor in March with Domani joining this time.[12] A press conference for the series was held the same month with Wilona and Bramasta.[13] In late October 2018, after the scenario of the final episode leaked online, it was announced that Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta was coming to an end.[14] The finale aired on October 28.[6]

Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta premiered on November 13, 2017 on SCTV in the 18:00 time slot.[15] In September 2018, its time slot was changed to 17:00.[16] Starting in April 2020, Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta was rebroadcast.[17]
