Biography
Early life
Shosuke Tanihara was born on July 8, 1972 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He graduated from Kanagawa Prefectural Kohoku High School in 1991.[1]
Career
In 1992, he entered the entertainment industry as a model. His acting career began in the film Hana Yori Dango, in which he starred as Tsukasa Domyoji in 1995.[2] The same year he began appearing in minor roles in television dramas.
Tanihara also hosts a podcast produced by Tokyo FM, titled Tokyo Twenty-Four Living Supported by FLET’S Hikari. It began on January 7, 2006 with the guest, former Yokohama Bay Stars pitcher Takashi Saito.[3]
Personal life
He married Emi Miyake in March 2007,[1] and had their daughter in October. He made the announcement at the 8th Best Formalist Award ceremony.[4] His second daughter was born in April 2009, followed by two sons in October 2010 and February 2012.[5] He announced in January 2015 that he wife was expecting.[6] She gave birth to their third daughter on April 9, 2015.[7] Tanihara also has a stepson (born December 19, 2003) from his wife's previous marriage to Issei Ishida.[8]

Notes
- Before appearing in Hana Yori Dango, he participated in the Men's Non-no model contest with co-stars, Koichi Hashizume and Naohito Fujiki.
- He met the creator of Boys Over Flowers, Yoko Kamio during the production of the movie. At the time, they were filming the last scene at the night club in Roppongi.[9]
- Tanihara appeared in two films of Fuji TV's "Our film series" (
ぼくたちの映画シリーズ ), Hana Yori Dango and Deborah ga Rival (based on a manga by Kaoru Tada). - Yuki Uchida, who played opposite him in the Hana Yori Dango film, also performed in Gunshi Kanbei with him as Nohime.
