Ryo Kimura (木村 了 (きむら りょう) Kimura Ryō, born September 23, 1988 in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese actor. He is known for his roles in Nodame Cantabile, Hanazakari no Kimtachi e, and Otomen. Kimura portrayed Junpei Oribe and Kimoto in Hana Yori Dango: The Musical during early 2016.

Kimura was born the youngest of three brothers on September 23, 1988 in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan.

He made his acting debut in Flow's music video for "Blaster" in 2003. Kimura began appearing in films with 2004's Moonlight Jellyfish, co-starring with Tatsuya Fujiwara. Kimura appeared on stage for the first time with 2012's Lychee Light Club. In 2016, he costarred alongside Yuya Matsushita in Hana Yori Dango: The Musical.

Personal life[]

On March 12, 2016, Kimura married actress Megumi Okina. The couple did not hold a ceremony or reception. Through his marriage, Kimura became a stepfather to Okina's two daughters from a previous marriage.[1]

  • His portrayal of Kimoto in the musical is uncredited. He appears just briefly in the song, "Good Morning," and his face is obscured.
  • Kimura also appeared in another adaptation of Yoko Kamio's work, Cat Street. He is one of a few actors to appear in more than one adaptation of her work.
