Early life[]

Yuzuka was born on March 5 in the Suginami ward of Tokyo.[1] She is the third of five siblings and the only girl.

After graduating from middle school, Yuzuka's mother found information about the Takarazuka Music School at a bookstore. Yuzuka passed the school's exam and subsequently began the two-year program.[2][3]

In 2009, Yuzuka entered the Takarazuka Revue in the 95th class.[2] She had her official debut with the rest of her class in the Cosmos Troupe's Amour Soreha.[1] Yuzuka was placed in the Flower Troupe (花組 () ) afterwards.[4] Small roles for Yuzuka in main productions and newcomer productions (新人公演 () shinjin kouen)[5] followed, including The Rose of Versailles: Andre (2009),[6] Gubijin (2010),[7] Prelude to Love (2011),[8] and Ocean's Eleven (2013).[9] Her first starring role was in the newcomer production of The Love of the Last Tycoon (2014).[10] The same year, Yuzuka had her first starring role in a main production, Nocturne.[11] She went on to star as Der Tod in the newcomer version of Elisabeth (2014).[12] Yuzuka's last newcomer role was as the title character in 2015's The New Tale of Genji.[13]

In 2017, Yuzuka was cast as Shinobu Ijuuin, the lead role, in Haikara-san ga Toru opposite Yuki Hana.[14] She had major supporting roles in The Poe Clan,[15] Love Blooms Out on the Murasakino,[16] and Messiah in 2018.[17] The same year, she also starred in Melancholic Gigolo.[18] She appeared in a production of Casanova starring Rio Asumi in early 2019. [19] In January, it was revealed that Yuzuka would be starring in a musical adaptation of Boys Over Flowers which premiered in June.[20] Her final supporting role was in A Fairy Tale.[21] Following Rio Asumi's retirement in late November 2019, Yuzuka officially became the Flower Troupe's top star. She made her debut as top star in Dance Olympia in early 2020.[22] In mid and late 2020, Yuzuka reprised her role as Shinobu Ijuuin in Haikara-san ga Toru with Yuki Hana again.[23]

In early 2021, Yuzuka starred in Nice Work If You Can Get It[24] and Augustus: The Illustrious One,[25] She starred alongside Madoka Hoshikaze for the first time in Sorrowful Cordoba later that year.[26] Yuzuka finished 2021 with Genroku Baroque Rock. The production was suspended mid-run due to COVID-19.[27] In early 2022, she starred in Top Hat as Jerry Travers.[28] Her other productions for 2022 were Years of Pilgrimage[29] and Burning in Firenze.[30] For the first half of 2023, Yuzuka starred in Mayerling[31] and A Battlefield for the Two of Us.[32] Her next performance was in the musical version of Singing Lovebirds.[33] On August 15, Yuzuka and Hoshikaze announced their plans to retire from the Takarazuka Revue.[34] Her final performance was starring in Arc-en-ciel, which ran until May 26, 2024.[35]
