- "We couldn't stand you attracting so much attention. We wanted you to disappear sooner. That's why we let everyone know about the real you. We've spent so much time and money transforming ourselves into the best of all women we could be, so that we could marry the best of all men. Men, like F4, that's our goal."
- —Bai He to Shan Cai[src]
Qian Bai He (Chinese: 錢百合; pinyin: Qián Bǎihé) was a student at Ying De Academy. She and her best friend Qian Hui were classmates of Dong Shan Cai. When Shan Cai began receiving attention from the F4, both girls started bullying her. They occasionally pretended to be Shan Cai's friend, such as when they thought she was dating Dao Ming Si.
Biography[]
College[]
Bai He attended Ying De Academy with her best friend, Qian Hui. They were in same homeroom as Dong Shan Cai. Bai He was nice to Shan Cai, though she also looked down on her.[1]
Bullying Shan Cai[]

Returning from winter break, Bai He noticed Shan Cai dealing with her broken down motorbike. She lent her Gucci handkerchief to clean her hands. Walking into school, Bai He and Qian Hui both tried to one-up each other on the things they got over the break. After Shan Cai received a red slip from the F4, Bai He and Qian Hui both participated in bullying her.[1] Later, she and Qian Hui spread rumors about Shan Cai without her knowledge and pretended to be on her side. The girls invited her to a party to embarrass her. Bai He told her that they "could [not] stand" her getting attention from the F4. Shan Cai embarrassed Bai He in front of a guy and poured a drink on her. The next day, she and Qian Hui taped Shan Cai talking to Hua Ze Lei. They later harassed her until Dao Ming Si arrived and threatened to give them a red slip.[2]
For spring break, Bai He and Qian Hui went on a cruise with and the F4. At that night's party, Bai He and Qian Hui conspired to kiss one of the F4 by turning off the lights as a game. To her horror, Bai He accidentally kissed Chen Qing He instead of Si. Back at school, she and Qian Hui showed Si their video of Shan Cai and Lei. She then attempted to flirt with him, but was pushed away.[3] Some days later, the girls began acting overly nice to Shan Cai after photos of her and Si were posted on the school's noticeboard. They then offered to buy her lunch.[4] Afterwards, Bai He and Qian Hui took Shan Cai out dancing. Later, Qian Hui revealed that she had received scandalous photos of Shan Cai, which caused her to be bullied later on. When Si punished Qian Hui, Bai He appealed to Shan Cai to make him stop.[5]
Sometime later, Bai He and Qian Hui had heard that Si was going to have Shan Cai expelled, which made the pair happy. Some minutes later, they saw Dao Ming Zhuang walking down the hall with Shan Cai. Irritated, Bai He said "Why does that woman have ties with all the celebrities?"[6] Several days later, Bai He and Qian Hui went to a magazine stand together. She picked up a magazine, which happened to have a photo of Shan Cai in it. Bai He suggested that they show the magazine to the F4 to show them "how cheap she [was]."[7] Sometime later, Bai He told Qian Hui that Shan Cai's latest red slip was not actually from the F4. She speculated that someone was using the F4's name to punish Shan Cai, which made both girls happy. Qing He then tried to confront them, but they were not intimidated at all.[8]
Physical appearance[]
She had medium length, brown hair, which she often wore down. Bai He typically wore what she considered trendy and expensive clothes and jewelry, which was mostly name brand. According to herself, she put a lot of time and money into her appearance.
Personality and traits[]
Bai He and her best friend Qian Hui shared similar traits, such as being shallow and materialistic. She valued money over looks or personality when it came to potential suitors. Bai He demonstrated some kindness towards Shan Cai when she lent her a handkerchief. However, when Shan Cai became acquainted with the F4, Bai He became extremely jealous. Furthermore, she looked down on Shan Cai because of her financial status. Bai He and Qian Hui, despite their hatred for Shan Cai, were not above pretending to be her friend on occasion.
Etymology[]
Bai He (百合) translates to "lily."[10] On their own, the characters mean "hundred" (百)[11] and "to join", "to close," "to shut" (合).[12] The two characters are also the same as her manga character's given name. Her surname, Qian (錢),[2] is a common Chinese surname which means "money." It is also spelt Chin, Chien, Tsien, or Zee.[13][14]
