"If you think of the F3 as the sun, you're like the moon, aren't you, Akira? You're never out front and center, but you seem to be the one who heals the other three. If you're not there, the other three fall apart."
"Night of the Crescent Moon" (三日月の夜〜クレセントムーン〜,三日月の夜〜クレセントムーン〜Mikazuki no Yoru ~ Kuresento Mūn), also translated as "Crescent Moon Night", is a special chapter of Boys Over Flowers by Yoko Kamio. The chapter was published in Margaret on December 5, 2003. It was included in the final volume of the series.
The story follows Akira Mimasaka, who has his hands full with his family and friends.
"Night of the Crescent Moon" was published in Margaret No.1 on December 5, 2003.Yoko Kamio wrote that she had considered writing a story about Akira for a long time. She never had the time to write it until Boys Over Flowers ended. Kamio later stated "I made [Akira] the main character because I felt I hadn't done a good job of fleshing him out." After writing "Crescent Moon", Kamio received letters from readers "telling [her] that they had come to like Akira" because of the story, which made her happy.
According to Kamio, the story takes place before Tsukushi and Tsukasa are dating. Based on Akira referring to Tsukushi as a "pauper," points to it taking place early in the series.
