Marie Iitoyo (飯豊 まりえ (いいとよ まりえ) Ītoyo Marie, born January 5, 1998 in Chiba, Japan) is a Japanese model and actress. She is known for her roles in Mars: Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru, Kyo no Kira-kun, and Ankoku Joshi. Iitoyo is currently an exclusive model for the Japanese magazine, Oggi.

She appeared in the 2018 drama Hana Nochi Hare as Megumi Nishidome.

Biography

Early life

She was born Marie Iitoyo (飯豊 万理江 () ) on January 5, 1998[1] in Chiba Prefecture.[2] Iitoyo is an only child.[3]

Career

In October 2008, Iitoyo won the top prize at a modelling audition held by Avex Kids and Nicopuchi. She was selected from 800 applicants.[4] Iitoyo modeled for Nico-Petit, before moving to its sister magazine Nicola in 2011. Her acting debut was in a television special the following year. In 2013, Iitoyo appeared in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger[5] as Yayoi Ulshade,[6] a role she reprised in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters (2014)[7] and Ressha Sentai ToQger vs. Kyoryuger (2015).[8] She became an exclusive model for Seventeen in 2014.[9] The same year, Iitoyo also became an active gravure model, after appearing in Weekly Young Jump.[10][11]

She appeared in a television film based on the anime, Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, in 2015.[12] Iitoyo had a pivotal role in 2016's Mars: Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru, which was concluded with a film.[13] Later that year, she appeared in the Getsuku drama Sukinahito ga Iru Koto with Mirei Kiritani.[14] Her first starring roles were in the film Ankoku Joshi[15] and the drama Maji de Koukaishitemasu in 2017.[16] She also played the heroine in 2017's Kyo no Kira-kun opposite Taishi Nakagawa.[17] In January 2018, Iitoyo appeared on the cover of Weekly Playboy.[18] On her twentieth birthday, she published her first photo book, No Gazpacho.[19] She joined the cast of Hana Nochi Hare in 2018 as Megumi Nishidome.[20] After leaving Seventeen in June 2018,[21] Iitoyo became an exclusive model for Oggi.[22]

In early 2019, she appeared in the film Tora-san: Boku ga Neko ni Natta Wake[23] and lent her voice to City Hunter the Movie: Shinjuku Private Eyes.[24] Iitoyo is currently appearing in the period drama, Hissatsu Shigotonin.[25]
