"Thank you, Miss Makino. Your thoughtfulness shows me that you are a fine young lady."
—Jody to Tsukushi[src]

Jody Grand (ジョディ・グランド () Jodi Gurando) was the headmistress of the Royal Finishing Academy. She participated in the Teen of Japan competition as a judge. Jody also tested the contestants' English in the second round.

Biography[]

She was the headmistress of the Royal Finishing Academy, located in England.[1] Jody was invited to be a judge for Teen of Japan along side three others. A translator was used to interpret Jody's comments to the Japanese audience.[2] In the second round, she tested the contestants' English skills and refinement. She disqualified Sonoko Maekawa, when she dropped a tea cup.[1] During Tsukushi Makino's turn, Jody felt faint and began to speak faster in order to fail her. When Jody nearly passed out, Tsukushi caught her and shouted "pale" which was coincidentally the answer to Jody's question. She was impressed by Tsukushi's answer and her thoughtfulness. Jody passed her and Ayano Kurimaki to the last round.[3]

Physical appearance[]

She was an elderly English woman with noticeable wrinkles around her mouth and eyes. Her light brown hair was pulled into a tight bun. Jody also had glasses with circle-shaped lenses. For her attire, she opted for a simple blazer and ascot.

Personality and traits[]

Jody was severe but not unfair woman, likely stemming from her role as the headmistress of Royal Finishing Academy. Her manners were impeccable. She was an objective judge during Teen of Japan, not favoring any one contestant.
