- "The warmth of his hand. His arm... Isn't mine! That arm belongs to... It belongs to Shigeru now."
- —Tsukushi Makino
"Hurricane Approaching" (
Tsukushi Makino settles into living on her own with the help of her friends. She continues to avoid Tsukasa Domyoji, refusing to speak to him when he confronts her. Later, Shigeru Okawahara transfers to Eitoku Academy.
Plot
Tsukushi Makino cooks french toast for her breakfast, thinking "Today, I begin my new life." Her thoughts turn to the argument she had with Rui Hanazawa the previous day. Distracted, she does not notice her french toast burning until it is too late. Later that morning, Makiko Endo asks her "How do you like living alone?" Tsukushi answers "It's the best!" and then jokes about burning her breakfast earlier. She suddenly stops laughing when they approach the fountain, which is full of koi fish. It brings back painful memories of what happened with Tsukasa Domyoji and Shigeru Okawahara. Makiko eventually rouses her from her thoughts. Tsukushi tells Makiko to go ahead of her class since she wants to stop somewhere else first.
Slowly, Tsukushi walks up the stairs to the emergency exit. She, however, does not find Rui there. His words criticizing her not following her feelings ring clearly in Tsukushi's ears. She sits down, thinking "I wonder if Rui Hanazawa is mad at me." Tsukushi then speculates whether Shigeru will come to see her, though she does not think so since "[she] caught her in the act." Then suddenly she loudly yells calling herself "stupid." Meanwhile, Sojiro Nishikado and Akira Mimasaka are making plans to go to a nightclub. Both Tsukasa and Rui are disinterested and refuse to go. Akira then says "You're putting the F4 to shame." Tsukasa stands up and walks away without a word. Sojiro and Akira exchange concerned looks.
Afterwards, Sojiro and Akira ask Tsukushi about what happened at Shigeru's villa, explaining that Rui and Tsukasa have been "weird" since then. Tsukushi shouts "If they're acting weird, it's got nothing to do with me!" After school, Tsukushi walks to the gate with Makiko and invites her to visit her sometime. She is feeling thankful to have avoided Tsukasa all day just as he appears before her. Makiko says goodbye fast. Tsukasa wants to talk to Tsukushi, but she tells him "There's nothing I want to hear from you." When she tries to walk away, he grabs her arm. Memories of him touching her previously flood through her. She eventually shakes off his hand and runs away, thinking "That arm belongs to Shigeru now."
At work, Tsukushi is noticeably distracted. Yuki Matsuoka is worried about her, thinking she is "lonely" living by herself. Tsukushi agrees with her and assures her that will "get used to it." At the same time, Tsukasa is looking at the stars and picks up the toy he once gave Tsukushi, which still says "I love you." The following day, Tsukushi is mulling over everything when she hears a violin. She goes to the courtyard, where she finds Rui playing. Tsukushi starts talking once he has stopped, commenting that he has not played in a while. He feels that he should not have started again, saying "I can't hear the violin's voice anymore." She asks if it is because of Shizuka Todo. He replies "No. I'm the one who ran away."
Later, Tsukushi is brooding over Rui's words while sitting in the dark at home. She then hears a knock at the door. Kazuya Aoike enters the apartment, followed by Yuki and Makiko whom have come to help her redecorate. They start wallpapering the walls and painting the cabinets. Kazuya asks Tsukushi "Does Tsukasa know you're living alone now?" to which she answers "There's no reason to tell him." Makiko then walks in carrying food, so they all take a break to eat. Once they are finished, Tsukushi feels grateful to have friends. The next morning at school, she discovers a construction project. She then sees Shigeru, who reveals that she has transferred there. Tsukushi cannot help thinking she is having a "nightmare."
