Hana Yori Dango: Romantic Story (花より男子 ロマンチックストーリー, (花より男子 ロマンチックストーリー Hana Yori Dango Romanchikku Sutōrī) is a series of fifteen light novels by Shimako Takeuchi. The series is based on the manga, Boys Over Flowers by Yoko Kamio and includes illustrations by her. Some of the illustrations were included in Kamio's art book in 1995.

The novels were published by Shueisha under their Cobalt-Pinky label from 1994 to 1998. They were all reprinted and released on October 17, 2005 under the Cobalt label.

Author

Shimako Takeuchi (竹内 志麻子 (たけうち しまこ) , Shimako Takeuchi) is a pen name of the Japanese writer, Shimako Iwai (岩井 志麻子 (いわい しまこ) , Iwai Shimako, born December 5, 1964). She wrote her first novel in 1986 for Shueisha Cobalt. Iwai also wrote a novelization of the Super Gals! manga. Hana Yori Dango: Romantic Story was the last work she published under the Shimako Takeuchi pen name. She has written under many other names.

• South Korea: starting in January 2005, Seoul Media Group began publishing the novels under their "Wink Novel" label. It titled 꽃보다 남자 in Korean.
• Taiwan: the novels were all published by 21st Century House in June 2003 and translated by Wang Chaowei. The series is titled Meteor Garden (流星花園).
