In 2006, Gook made her debut as a model for CF green tea.[4] She appeared in the morning drama, You are Very Good (난 네게 반했어) in 2008.[5] Gook later gained popularity for portraying Choi Jin-hee in Boys Over Flowers (2009). The same month, she signed a one-year exclusive modelling deal with Coreana Cosmetics.[6][7] Later that year, Gook had a small role in the film, Castaway on the Moon.[8] She made a cameo in The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry starring Boys Over Flowers costar Kim Bum in 2010.[9] The same year, she had a supporting role in the morning drama, The Scarlet Letter.[10] In 2014, Gook appeared in the film, Awaiting playing a therapist.[11]
