The gold pig charm (
History[]
The object's purpose is to "suck in your bad luck through its snout." Haruto Kaguragi gave it to Oto Edogawa during her brief hospital stay.[1] Later, when Oto told him about her mother getting a job, Haruto attributed it to pig sucking in her bad luck.[2] Several days later, Haruto admitted his feelings to Oto. She rejected him since she was dating Tenma Hase and returned the gold pig back to him.[3] Afterwards, he ordered his butler Kozo Kobayashi to purge all of his "good luck" items, including the pig, from his room.[4] Kobayashi, however, had secretly saved the pig, believing that it was "important" to Haruto. He later placed it in Haruto's jacket. Kobayashi also attributed Haruto's happy face to the pig, which he affectionately dubbed. "Washington" (
After he and Oto became friends again, Haruto lent it to her. At the time, she was depressed about Tenma not believing her when she accused Jin Konoe of being behind the Eitoku attacks. She agreed to take it for the time being.[6] The same night, Oto realized that she had feelings for Haruto. She decided to forget him in order to stay by Tenma's side. Oto then hid the pig among her things, trying not to think about it.[7] Haruto and Tenma later competed against eachother in a martial arts competition. Oto returned the pig to Haruto just before the second round. He then used it for moral support during the round, which he won. After winning the whole competition, Haruto thanked "Washington."[8]
