He Yuan Zi asks Dong Shan Cai to convince Dao Ming Si to eat. However, Shan Cai instead decides to join his protest by standing outside his home. Meanwhile, Dao Ming Zhuang returns home and criticizes her mother's tactics.
Plot[]
Dao Ming Zhuang storms into her family's mansion. She declares "Out of my way" to two bodyguards, before preceding to Dao Ming Si's room. Zhuang wakes up the lethargic Si and speaks sweetly to him, telling him that she is happy to see him "become a mature man." Later, He Yuan Zi brings Dong Shan Cai to the mansion. Dao Ming Feng welcomes Xiao Zi, but tries to discourage her from interacting with someone like Shan Cai. An annoyed Shan Cai interrupts to ask Feng to let her see Si. Feng steadfastly refuses at first, though Xiao Zi feels that only Shan Cai will be able to encourage Si to eat. Feng eventually allows her to speak with him through his bedroom door after Xiao Zi pleads with her further.
Shan Cai is taken to Si's door, while a bodyguard helps Si on the other side. She reminds him of the previous time limit they had agreed on before, suggesting that they should give up on their relationship. He questions "Why must we give up?" Si feels that if he were able to give her up, he would have done so the first time they broke-up. He then says "We will definitely be together." Hearing his sincerity, Shan Cai agrees and repeats his words back to him. She goes downstairs where Xiao Zi and Feng are waiting. She apologizes for not convincing Si to eat. When Zhuang walks in and greets her, Shan Cai informs the room "If he fasts, I will fast" and promises to wait until he comes out of his room.
Later, Zhuang looks out a window to see Shan Cai waiting. Her mother then walks up to her. Zhuang begins criticizing her for her treatment of Si, which is reminiscent of what Feng had done to her in the past. Feng replies "You're talking too much" and Zhuang storms away. When night falls, Shan Cai continues to stand outside even when it starts to rain. Zhuang and Feng, meanwhile, sit down for a tense dinner. Zhuang suggests for the servant not to bring Si his dinner since he will not eat it, but Feng has her do so anyway. After dinner, Feng looks out the window again. Zhuang comes up and says "Surely this is enough?" She questions how much she is willing to "push" Si and Shan Cai.
Zhuang criticizes Feng as a mother, leading her to retort "I'm doing what a mother should do." Feng wants to help Si avoid mistakes like getting involved with Shan Cai. Zhuang lists off Shan Cai's good points and further asserts that Si would be making a mistake if he listened to their mother. Zhuang then reveals that she has always regretted not fighting for her love. She then leaves and Feng takes another look at Shan Cai through the window. Feng then sits by herself for a long time, presumably pondering Zhuang's confession and the current situation. In the morning, a servant informs Zhuang that Feng has left for New York, dismissed the bodyguards, and called off Si's and Xiao Zi's wedding.
Outside, Ms. Yu excitedly hugs an exhausted Shan Cai, telling her that she has "succeeded." Shan Cai is then taken to Si's room, where she falls into his arms and passes out. As Si holds her, he recalls the good and bad moments that they have shared together. Some days later, Si and Shan Cai are out on date. He reminds her that she still has not said that she likes him. She does so, but he asks her to say it again. She refuses initially, but then loudly declares "I like you." Si promptly embraces her. The pair walk up to a street performer and compliment his song, before carrying on with their date. Meanwhile, Xi Men answers a call from a girl. Mei Zuo is amused to see him seemingly back to his playboy ways.
