Chen was born on January 15, 1995 in Taiwan. He graduated from the Taipei Municipal Heping High School.[1]

In 2016, Chen starred in the Chinese drama Proud of Love as Lin Yu Tang, the childhood friend of Vivian Sung's character. He reprised his role in the 2017 sequel.[2] His casting in the Meteor Garden remake was announced in November 2017, when he appeared alongside co-stars Dylan Wang, Liang Jing Kang, and Caesar Wu in Harper's Bazaar China.[3] He later attended a press conference in Shanghai, where his role as Hua Ze Lei was revealed.[4]Meteor Garden aired the following summer.[5] In 2020, Chen starred in the film Oversize Love[6] and the television dramas The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty,[7] and My Unicorn Girl.[8]
Chen performed "For You," the theme song of Meteor Garden (2018), with his F4 costars. He also contributed to three other songs on the soundtrack, including his solo "Hua Bei Hou De Wen Rou."
