Biography
Early life
Qing He first met Dong Shan Cai during elementary school. He admired her for her strength as well as for her cheerfulness and kindness towards her friends. For example, he hated milk but Shan Cai always drank it for him despite it hurting her stomach.[3]
College
During college, Qing He's father sold his ancestral land which made the family rich. He was forced to enroll at Ying De Academy by his father. Qing He was concerned about going there since he thought it would be boring.[4]
Transfer to Ying De
On his first day at Ying De, Qing He was reunited with Shan Cai. They spent much of the morning and lunch together. Qing He later opened his locker to find a red slip. He and Shan Cai were accosted by bullies. They ran all over the school, ending up in the courtyard. The bullies only stopped when Hua Ze Lei stepped in. The next morning, Qing He invited Shan Cai on a cruise for spring break.[4] When they arrived at the ship, they learned that Si had bought it. Though annoyed, they boarded anyway. The first night, Si and Shan Cai accidentally kissed. Seeing her so upset the next day, Qing He became upset and challenged Si to a swimming contest though he quickly lost. Afterwards, He and Si bonded a little over making sashimi for everyone. Upon returning to school, Qing He thought he and Shan Cai would no longer be bullied. He was proven wrong immediately.[3]
After the cruise, Qing He wrongly thought that no one would bully him or Shan Cai. He was immediately proven wrong. Qing He later attended Teng Tang Jing's birthday party with Shan Cai and Xiao You. He spent much of the party collecting signatures from the various celebrities. Despite not knowing Jing well, he said goodbye to her at the airport with the F4.[5] He later went dancing with his classmates, including Shan Cai and Li Zhen. Shan Cai asked him to take Li Zhen home, since she appeared to be drunk. Two days later, Qing He tried to protect Shan Cai from bullies, but was beat up in the process.[6]
On friendly terms with the F4
Qing He briefly joined the F4, when Hua Ze Lei betrayed Si. Neither Xi Men or Mei Zuo were happy with his recruitment. His time as a F4 member was short-lived, since he played on Shan Cai's side during the three-on-three basketball match. The game was declared a draw, after Si gave up at the last second. Qing He was later present at the airport, when Si left to go to New York.[2] When Shan Cai went missing, Qing He frantically searched for her, but was ultimately unable to find her. After the incident, Qing He vowed that he would try his best to protect her.[7] He congratulated Si on his engagement to He Yuan Zi, rejoicing that he might have a chance with Shan Cai. Qing He later confessed his feelings to Shan Cai, but she did not hear him.[8]
A few days later, Qing He reported to Xiao You that Shan Cai and Si had started dating. He then attempted to convince her to help him break them up.[9] Qing He's father later lost all of his money. Unknown to Qing He at the time, Si's mother Feng ruined his family and Xiao You's financially in order to hurt Shan Cai. She disappeared after the incident, and Qing He began searching for her and sending her text messages daily.[1] Qing He coincidentally watched the news and recognized Shan Cai, who was working at a restaurant in a small fishing village. He and Lei went to the village to bring her back to Taipei.[10]
After Shan Cai returned to school, she and Qing He remained friends. He witnessed many of Shan Cai's and Si's relationship troubles, including Lei pursuing her and the incident with Si's fake cousin, Ya Men.[11] When Si's and Xiao Zi's marriage was announced, Qing He was quick to believe it was real and talked ill of Si. Nevertheless, he provided Xi Men and Mei Zuo with the idea to call Si's sister, Dao Ming Zhuang.[12]
Physical appearance
Despite being considered unattractive by his classmates, Qing He had overall normal features. He had a round face with a wide nose and thick eyebrows. Qing He had sparky, dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was much shorter than the F4, standing at one hundred and seventy-six centimeters. Both of his ears were pierced.
Personality and traits
Qing He was generally a funny and happy person, who was easy to get along with. He had his moments when he was annoying or embarrassing to his friends. Qing He, who was new to wealth, irritated rich people the most. In many ways he was considered the opposite of the F4, who were rich from birth and athletic. Despite his general cluelessness, Qing He understood Shan Cai well likely due to their similar backgrounds and his feelings for her.
