Chapter 96 (
Haruto Kaguragi asks Oto Edogawa to stay in his hotel suite. Oto reconfirms her feelings to him again shortly before falling asleep. He lays awake all night, thinking of how much Oto has changed him. The next day, Airi Maya arrives in Los Angeles.
Plot[]
Haruto Kaguragi walks Oto Edogawa over to her hotel and tells her to go get her luggage. Seeing her nervousness, he tells her she can stay by herself and walks away. Oto remembers her resolve from earlier about wanting to tell him her feelings. She quickly gathers her things and races back to Haruto. They soon arrive at Haruto's hotel, the Maple Hotel, named after Kaede Domyoji.
Oto is amazed by the size of Haruto's room, which is actually a suite with three bedrooms and bathrooms. Haruto tells her to take whichever room she wants, before saying "I don't mind sharing the same room." He then mentions how much Tenma Hase has changed since moving here. Haruto declares "I'll become the best version of me and be worthy of you, Oto." Resolving to speak to her parents again, he tells her nothing can happen between them that night and heads into one of the bedrooms.
A few minutes later, Oto walks into his room, asking "Can I sleep next to you?" She sits down on the bed before he can answer. Oto tells him earlier that day she felt she was "missing something" and realized it was Haruto. She then says "I think you're wonderful just the way you are." Before going to sleep, Oto tells him that she loves him. Watching Oto sleep, Haruto cries tears of happiness and thinks about how Oto changed him from someone who "only care[d] about [him]self." Airi Maya barges into the room the next morning, lecturing him for leaving her behind in Japan.
