The ninetieth chapter (第90話 () , ninetieth chapter) of Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers was the final chapter collected in the series' fourteenth volume. The chapter was first published in Margaret on February 20, 1996. It was followed by the ninety-first chapter the following March.

Tsukushi Makino is targeted by her classmates again. Sakurako Sanjo questions if Tsukasa Domyoji is really behind it, pointing the finger at Junpei Oribe instead. However, he comes in to save her at the last second.

Plot

Hiding in the science lab, Tsukushi Makino thinks to herself "I never thought I'd get another one," referring to the red card. She is more upset that she has hurt Tsukasa Domyoji. His confession of love repeats itself in her head, nearly causing her to tear up. Seconds later, a group of male students enter the room. They start talking about Tsukushi, saying things like "She's dead this time!" Another brings up Junpei Oribe, who he predicts will be "creamed" as well due to him standing out too much.

Tsukushi tries to sneak out of the lab in order to go find Junpei. She inadvertently causes a glass to break, alerting the guys to her presence. One tells his friend to lock the door, before attempting to punch Tsukushi. She dodges him, causing him to hurt his hand by punching through glass. The other two lunge towards her, but she throws several glass bottles at them. She then runs out of the room as the boys' shout notify the school. Sakurako Sanjo and Kazuya Aoike call her over to the library.

Sakurako correctly guesses that Tsukasa confessed his feelings to Tsukushi. She is surprised that Tsukushi did not realize. Sakurako questions if Tsukasa really gave her the red card, pointing a finger at Junpei instead. Tsukushi defends him and Sakurako replies "Then, why isn't he here?" Someone then tries to enter the room. Sakurako and Kazuya cover for her as Tsukushi jumps out the window. Some students catch her and one hits her. Junpei then swoops in, picking up Tsukushi and declaring "I'll protect you."
