Tsukushi: "You say it's my fault?! Are you insane? Or do you just have absolutely no class at all?"
Tsukasa: "And he's got class?! That nouveau riche twerp! You make me sick you two paupers giggling together! "Someone so good!" Makes me want to puke!"
Tsukushi and Tsukasa argue about Kazuya

Chapter 9 (第9話 () ) of Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers was published in July 1992 in Margaret No.16. It was the final chapter of the "Red Slip Troubles" arc in the series. The chapter was followed by chapter ten in August 1992, the beginning of the "Atami Arc".[1]

Tsukasa Domyoji gives a red card to Kazuya Aoike. The student body chases Kazuya and Tsukushi Makino until they end up in Eitoku University's cafeteria. There Rui Hanazawa unexpectedly saves Tsukushi.

Plot

After Kazuya Aoike receives a red slip, Tsukushi Makino confronts Tsukasa Domyoji. They argue heatedly until she says "I like him better than anyone could ever like you." He slaps her without thinking. She punches him in retaliation. Tsukushi hears Kazuya's cries for help and saves him from a bully. They run outside. Tsukushi apologizes to Kazuya for causing him to be bullied, though he tells her that "[he] can take it too". They are found by Yuriko Asai and her friends, who alert the rest of the students.

The F4 and Shizuka Todo have lunch at Eitoku University. Sojiro Nishikado asks Shizuka about her love life in Paris. Shizuka reveals that though several men were interested in her, she did feel the same. She teases Rui Hanazawa about not having a girlfriend and offers to introduce him to a model. Rui strongly opposes the idea and Shizuka replies with more teasing remarks. An acquaintance of Shizuka's introduces himself and mistakes Rui to be her boyfriend, though she insists he is like her "brother."

Tsukushi and Kazuya are being chased, when she happens to see a poster for Eitoku's summer trip to Hawaii, which cost 500,000 yen. She angrily yells at the poster, before Kazuya pulls her towards the university. A student knocks them down with a broom, once they reach the cafeteria. Tsukushi silently wishes for someone to save them, when she spots Shizuka in the crowd. Suddenly, Rui picks her up and calls the bullies "animals." He tells everyone that "It's time to stop", shocking Shizuka and the F4.
