- "Could it really have been Tsukasa? I kept telling myself it wasn't true, but in the corners of my mind, for five days, I kept thinking it. Then when I saw it, instead of being surprised or frightened, I felt sad. The brilliant red looked to me like a farewell from Tsukasa."

Chapter 89 (
Tsukushi Makino puzzles over Tsukasa Domyoji's confession. Later, Junpei Oribe saves her from a flower pot being thrown out a window. After he questions Tsukasa's involvement, Tsukushi finds a red card in her locker.
Plot[]
Tsukushi Makino thinks about Tsukasa Domyoji telling her that he loves her. She is puzzled that he still feels the same. Her thoughts are interrupted when Junpei Oribe calls out her name. She notices that he is not wearing his glasses and becomes worried that someone will recognize him. He tells her "I don't want to hide myself anymore," before revealing that he and his brother have different mothers. He admits that he has "acted the fool" ever since being told so no one would notice that he did not "belong."
Tsukushi tears up after hearing Junpei's story. He then tells her that he has "always known about [her]" through her brother's yearbooks and photos. Junpei says "I thought, this person would understand me" as he grabs Tsukushi's shoulder. She suddenly says that she has to go home in order to make dinner for her family. They make their way downstairs. A potted plant comes sailing through a window. It nearly hits Tsukushi, but Junpei grabs her in time. He tells her "Maybe it was Tsukasa."
Not believing Tsukasa is the culprit, Tsukushi goes over the other possibilities. She realizes "I have way too many enemies." The next day, Sojiro Nishikado and Akira Mimasaka run up to Tsukushi asking if she has seen Tsukasa. They reveal that they have not seen him for a few days. Sojiro brings up her modeling with Junpei and warns her to be "careful." He calls Tsukasa a "loose cannon" as he walks off with Akira. Sometime later, Tsukushi receives a red card in her locker viewing it as a "farewell from Tsukasa."
