Chapter 84 (
Oto Edogawa's mother catches her and Haruto Kaguragi alone together. Believing her daughter is rebelling, she decides to call her husband for help with Oto. Later, Haruto's childhood friend, Amei, returns to Tokyo.
Plot[]
Oto Edogawa becomes dizzy while kissing Haruto Kaguragi. She hits her head against the wall and Haruto frantically makes sure she is alright. The two calm down and silently hold one another. Oto's mother then suddenly walks in with Airi Maya in tow. She accuses Oto of lying to her. Airi tries to shoulder the blame, but Oto's mother silences her. Haruto informs her that he is "serious about Oto". She refuses to hear him out and drags Oto out of the house and into Airi's car.
Once the car drives off, Airi apologized to Haruto though he insists it is not her fault. She then asks how things went, to which he replies "I won't forget this night for the rest of my life." In the car, Oto's mother informs her that she has called her father and asked him to return to Tokyo. Oto understands her mother's feelings, but she is "no longer that little girl who's going to walk path that was chosen by someone else." That night, Oto lies awake, her heart racing every time she thinks about kissing Haruto.
Haruto and Airi decide to spend the night and leave in the morning via helicopter. He asks her about Kaito Taira and suggests she go on a date with him. She outright refuses unless he and Oto go too. Haruto reluctantly agrees to do it for Kaito's sake. Airi then mentions Amei Hanawa, who called and said she is returning to Tokyo soon. The next day, Oto is at work when a girl walks in asking for directions. Oto recognizes the house and the girl answers "You know it's Haruto Kaguragi's house?"
