Chapter 74 (第74花 () , Chapter 74), also known as Episode 74 (74話 () , Episode 74), of Boys Over Flowers Season 2 was published on June 10, 2018. It was released jointly on Shonen Jump+ in Japan and Viz Media's website in America. The chapter was followed by the seventy-fifth installment later that month.

Tenma Hase's father asks Oto Edogawa why she ended her engagement to his son. She admits that she has feelings for Haruto Kaguragi, who is currently planning a festival. Kaito Taira confronts Airi Maya about her selfish behavior.

Plot

To herself, Oto Edogawa tells Airi Maya she is sorry but has "decided to be true to [her] feelings from now on." She then thanks Tenma Hase's father for always being there for her family. Tenma's stepmother interrupts and his father yells at her to "Stay out of this!" He mentions that his deceased wife was "looking forward to [their] marriage", before saying that "[Oto's and Tenma's] feelings should come first." Tenma's father then says sorry to them and his current wife.

At Airi's house, Kaito Taira chastises her for only thinking of her feelings. She says "Hase looked so sad", to which he reminds her of Oto's and Haruto Kaguragi's feelings. Airi becomes indignant when he calls her "selfish" and yells "What do you know?! You've never even been in love!" He tells her he has, so she asks who. Kaito remains silent for a moment, before declaring "There's one more person whose feelings you're ignoring, mine!" He then storms off, leaving Airi in a state of shock.

Kobayashi walks into Haruto's room with a gift he ordered for Oto in preparation for an event he is planning. Meanwhile, Oto and Tenma enter a parlor which was his mother's favorite room. It is full of memories of their childhood, but Tenma thinks it is time "clear it out" for his stepmother's sake. He then asks Oto "Did you finally realize that you like Haruto?" She confirms it and says sorry, before deciding to return home. Tenma suddenly grabs her hand, telling her "I don't want you to go!" At that moment, Haruto sends a text to Oto about a summer festival.

Notes

• In this chapter, Oto's mother's name is established as "Yukie", the same as her drama counterpart's revealed earlier in 2018.
• Viz's volume version makes some changes to the text, for example "Miyoko was really looking forward to..." to "Miyoko looked forward to..."
