Chapter 73 (
When the children refuse to pick a winner, the judges choose by points. Ayano Kurimaki wins but Tsukushi Makino is awarded a special prize. She promises to pay back Tsukasa Domyoji. He asks her to spend Christmas with him instead.
Plot[]
Tsukushi Makino and Ayano Kurimaki stand to the right and left of the stage. The emcee informs the children to run to the girl whom is their favorite. Some of the children pick sides until Ryusuke Hayama sits down. He refuses to pick either one since he liked them both. Some of the other children agree with him and join his protest. Ayano and Tsukushi are touched by what Ryusuke said. Several officials and the emcee then confer together about how to proceed with the contest.
It is determined that the judges will choose the winner based on their total score. Akira Mimasaka states "This doesn't look good for Tsukushi," while Sojiro Nishikado says "No way can she win on points." The emcee then announces that Ayano is the winner, but the judges grant Tsukushi a special prize of 300,000 yen. The audience claps for Tsukushi. The F4 and Tsubaki Domyoji compliment her in turns. Sojiro then suggests they go celebrate. Tsukushi heads off somewhere, promising to be right back.
Tsukushi finds Seinosuke Amakusa waiting for her outside the venue. She tells him "I like you a lot, but there's something that's not quite right." Seinosuke takes it well, seemingly already guessed her answer. He says "Domyoji's the one you love, isn't he?" Tsukushi, however, does not have an exact answer to that yet. Once Seinosuke leaves, Tsukasa Domyoji shows up. She promises to pay back the rest of the money. He asks her to spend Christmas with him as payment instead.
