Plot[]
Tsukushi Makino runs home holding the one million yen that will save her family. She reflects that her decision to enter Teen of Japan as "awful," but knows that "there [is] no turning back now." At home, she hands the money to her surprised mother. Tsukushi says "I didn't do anything wrong" but avoids revealing how she got it. She then informs her mother that she will be starting a diet immediately. Susumu Makino picks up the ringing telephone and hands it to Tsukushi.
The next day, Tsukushi goes to the Domyojis' house to see Tsubaki Domyoji, who asked her over to talk about Teen of Japan. Tsubaki asks Tsukushi if she intends to win, to which she replies "Yes, I do." She then promises to help Tsukushi in any way she can. Tsubaki begins describing the unpredictable contest, starting with the requirements. She then talks about the year she won it. That year, Tsubaki was crowned because she was the only one able to make okonomiyaki, which she learned for Tsukasa Domyoji.
Sojiro Nishikado bursts into the room, telling the other F4 members that "there [is] no way [Tsukushi] can win." He then describes another contestant, who is informally engaged to Seinosuke Amakusa. On the other hand, Rui Hanazawa hates that Tsukushi will be "paraded around." Tsukasa scoffs, saying "Have you guys forgotten? You're talking about the girl who singlehandedly took on the F4!" Tsubaki, meanwhile, introduces Tsukushi to her instructors whom will prepare her for the contest.
