Chapter 59 (
Upon returning to Tokyo, Haruto Kaguragi learns his father has disowned him and plans to replace him with Kei. Haruto has nowhere to stay since his friends are away for the summer, until Oto Edogawa comes back home.
Plot[]
Confused, Haruto Kaguragi demands to be let inside his house. Kobayashi, crying, hands him a tablet, saying "this will explain all..." A video of Haruto's father begins playing. He details his disappointment in Haruto, saying his time at Eitoku Academy was a "test." Instead of taking out Momonozono Academy, Haruto became "chummy" with the school. He has selected a new heir for Kaguragi Enterprises and plans to adopt him. Haruto's placement, Kei Windsor then introduces himself.
Without a wallet, cellphone, and all of his friends gone, Haruto has no idea what to do. Kei assures him that "Japan is a very safe country" as he walks Kobayashi back to the mansion. He wanders around, questioning "What did I do to deserve this?" Haruto approaches a stranger to borrow his phone. Thinking Haruto is crazy, he runs off. Haruto then asks to stay in a karaoke room, but is turned away since he has no money. The next day, Oto boards a plane to return home. She says goodbye to Airi Maya, who is heading to Hawaii next.
After saying goodbye to Oto, Tenma Hase walks up to Airi. She tells him "[he] should have seen her off", to which he says "It's better this way." He then comments on her face being red, which only makes her blush harder. Back in Tokyo, Oto receives a call from Arisa Konno about Haruto. She goes to Dowson, where she finds him waiting for her outside. He reminds her of her promise to help him "if [he] was ever in a bind." Skipping explanations, he declares "Let me stay at your house."
