The fifty-seventh chapter (
Haruto Kaguragi and Oto Edogawa find themselves stranded in the ocean, when their boat accidentally leaves them behind. Four hours later, their friends realize they are missing. Tenma Hase and Airi Maya then head out to find them.
Plot
Oto Edogawa realizes the boat has left her and Haruto Kaguragi behind, stranding them in the ocean. She has no idea on what to do and attempts to ask him a question, despite the awkward mood. Instead of answering, he calls her a "curse" and wishes he had never got on the same boat as her. Seeing his new personality, she wonders whether this drastic change is her fault. She then discerns that his old self "no longer exists."
The Correct 5 and Megumi Nishidome arrive back at the hotel. They discuss their dinner plans, before realizing that Haruto and Oto are missing. Airi Maya frantically asks Tenma Hase if he has seen Oto. He has not. Issa Narumiya questions some girls who were on the same tour as Haruto and Oto, but they cannot recall if they got off the boat. Sugimaru Eibi learns that the tour guides did not do a head count. He then guesses that the two have likely been left in the ocean. Hearing this, Tenma immediately rushes off and Airi follows him.
Tenma and Airi force the tour guide to retrace the route. Airi has little confidence that Haruto will protect Oto, which she admits to Tenma. He then mentions the time Airi locked him and Oto in a storeroom. Embarrassed, she says she loves Oto now. Tenma trusts her and thanks her for being Oto's friend. Meanwhile, Oto starts to pass out from exhaustion. Haruto slaps her awake and she pushes him away. She says "Why should you care?!" about whether she sinks or not. He counters saying he would never wish for her to die. Haruto then holds on to her and assures her that "someone will come."
