Not to be confused with Chapter 51 of Boys Over Flowers Season 2.

"To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about you. But, sometimes I think you're kinda sweet. Sojiro and Akira said I shouldn't go after you just cause I couldn't have Shizuka. Okay, so maybe somewhere inside I thought I could use you to forget her. I had to try to forget her. I'm sorry."
Rui to Tsukushi

The fifty-first chapter (第51話 () ) of the manga titled Boys Over Flowers was published in Margaret No.12 on May 20, 1994.[1] The chapter was the last to be included in the series' eighth volume. It was followed by chapter fifty-two.

Tsubaki Domyoji and the others lock Tsukushi Makino and Rui Hanazawa in a bedroom. In there, Rui admits that he still cannot forget Shizuka Todo. When Tsukasa Domyoji arrives, he acts surprisingly mature about the situation.

Plot

At Domyoji Mansion, Tsukushi Makino finds herself alone in a bedroom with Rui Hanazawa. She becomes nervous, thinking about what the situation implies. Tsukushi begins babbling about school trips, while retreating away from him. Drunk, Rui interrupts her with "You're ugly" before saying "Just kidding." He goes on to mention her performance on the basketball court and then says "At first, I wondered why Tsukasa was bothering with a girl like you, but I think now I know."

Rui confesses to Tsukushi "I'm not sure how I feel about you." He then admits to using her to forget Shizuka Todo and apologizes. Rui recalls his time in France, when he asked Shizuka about her engagement to Jean P. Mayol. She laughed about Rui being jealous, before saying "I love you, Rui." Back to the present, Rui wonders "If I hadn't butted in, you and Tsukasa would..." Tsukushi, however, tells him "I have no regrets." She begins joking and laughing about Tsukasa, which Rui watches with a soft smile.

Tsukasa Domyoji arrives home cheerfully. He then walks towards the dining room. Tsukasa overhears Tsubaki Domyoji, Sojiro Nishikado, and Akira Mimasaka talking about locking Tsukushi in the room with Rui. They eventually spot Tsukasa. Tsubaki talks honestly with him about the situation and tells him "If you're a man, I want you to take it like a man." Tsukasa takes it calmly, surprising his two friends. The next morning, Tsukushi quietly leaves the house. Tsukasa watches her from the balcony.
