Chapter 4 (
After saving Oto Edogawa from Maeno, Haruto Kaguragi admits to following her. Oto calls him "creepy", wounding his self-esteem. In hindsight, Oto realizes something worse might have happened if he had not been there.
Haruto Kaguragi stares in disbelief after saving Oto Edogawa from her co-worker. He denies rescuing her, saying "I would never bother to help some commoner like you." Haruto accidentally admits to following her, which Oto calls "creepy". The word strikes Haruto in the heart as Oto runs away. Kaito Taira confronts her and concedes that Haruto's recent actions have been "weird". Nonetheless, he takes up for his friend and tells her not to get the "wrong idea" about Haruto. Kaito then returns to Haruto.
At home, Oto sits down to dinner with mother. Her mother begins to reminiscence about their old life and laments that Oto cannot be one of the "black jackets", meaning the Correct 5, at school. Oto thinks to herself that she would not wear one of those jackets even if they were still rich. After dinner, Oto's mother mentions that "it's almost the 20th". She then sees a bruise on Oto's wrist. Looking at the bruise, Oto remembers the terror she felt when Maeno grabbed her. She wonders what would have happened, if Haruto had not saved her.
Meanwhile, Haruto agonizes over Oto calling him "creepy". Kobayashi tries to comfort by showing him photos of his hero, Tsukasa Domyoji. Haruto refuses to look, saying he is "not worthy". A maid walks in to inform him that a friend is waiting for him at the front gate. Kobayashi drives Haruto to the gate on a golf cart. Shocked to see Oto, Haruto quickly becomes irritated. However, he turns bright red, when she thanks him for saving her. Nearby, Airi Maya happens to see the exchange and wonders what was going on.
