Sojiro Nishikado, of the infamous F4, has agreed to help Haruto Kaguragi train for the "Manly Man Festival". Haruto stares at Sojiro in wonder as he demonstrates how to shoot a bow and arrow. Now Haruto's turn, he surprises himself by almost hitting the target. Sojiro offers him words of encouragement nonetheless. Haruto still appears nervous as he will have to hit atleast two targets to win the archery portion of the contest. Sojiro then comments how "weird" it is for Haruto to "fight over [his] school and a girl" at the contest.
Haruto tells Sojiro about Eitoku's decline in population, following the F4's graduation. He also informs him about Tsukasa Domyoji entrusting Eitoku's care to him. Sojiro begins hysterically laughing, while saying that Tsukasa would "never say that." He agrees to ask Tsukasa about it, when he comes back to Japan. Sojiro then asks Haruto about Oto Edogawa. After Haruto describes her, Sojiro is reminded of Tsukasa and Tsukushi Makino, saying "what is it with history repeating itself?"
Tenma Hase is practicing kendo, when his phone rings. He ignores it. In Tokyo, Oto tries to call Tenma as she boards a train with Airi Maya. Airi asks her to cheer for Haruto, and adds "just do [not] support Hase." Oto remembers an incident, when Tenma was beaten up while trying to protect her. She realizes that Tenma changed himself after that day for her, giving her conflicting emotions. At the competition, Haruto is surprised by the large crowd of students. Hitoshi Konoe arrives and Haruto promises to "kick [his] butt" when the contest it over.
Some sentences are different in the volume version, including "a member of the illustrious F4 that could silence crying babies" to "a member of the F4--a group so intimidating they could strike fear into one's heart."
