Chapter 43 (第43話 () , Chapter 43) of Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers was the first chapter to be published in 1994. It was released on January 5 in Margaret No.3-4. The chapter was followed by the forty-fourth installment the following February. It was also collected in the series' seventh volume.

Tsukasa Domyoji becomes irate when discovers Tsukushi Makino in his house, but his sister saves her. Tsukushi later gets drunk confesses everything to her. She expresses a hope that Tsukushi will not give up on Tsukasa.

Plot

Tsukasa Domyoji is livid when he finds Tsukushi Makino in his home. She makes an attempt to explain, but Tsukasa is blinded with rage and accuses her of "playing" with other's feelings. He then grabs her arm and says "You're just like the weeds out there." Suddenly, Tsubaki Domyoji kicks him and misreads the situation as Tsukasa coming on to Tsukushi. She tries to interject several times but Tsubaki continues rapidly talking. Tsubaki eventually drags her off to have tea, leaving Tsukasa on the floor.

Tsubaki and Tsukushi sit down to dinner. She asks the servants to get Tsukasa, but he refuses to join them. Tsubaki offers Tsukushi wine and the two have a few too many glasses. Tsukushi admits "I don't blame him for getting so angry." Tsubaki's attention is caught when she mentions Rui Hanazawa. Tsukushi then falls asleep at the table. Tsubaki has Tsukasa come downstairs and orders him to carry her to a guest room. He protests at first, but does it when his sister yells "Just do as I say!"

Tsukushi wakes up a little while later. Tsubaki, who was waiting in the room, asks if she is okay. She then sits down on the bed and says "I wish you wouldn't give up on Tsukasa." Tsubaki tells her a bit about Tsukasa's childhood and what makes him tick, concluding "He acts tough but he's not so bad." As she walks out, Tsukushi thinks something similar to what Tsubaki said. She, however, feels "I have no right to be with him anymore" and sheds a few tears.
