As Haruto Kaguragi defends her, Oto Edogawa wonders why he is "the one who actually believes [her]." Hitoshi Konoe takes up for Tenma Hase, saying that Eitoku is being attacked because their leader is "too lax". Tenma stops him and apologizes to Oto. He wants to believe her, but does not want to think that Konoe would lie. Haruto tells Tenma that he cannot see it because he is "too close" to Konoe. Oto ends the argument and orders everyone to go home. Tenma promises to call her later.
In the car, Tenma considers Haruto's words about him having "never veered off the right path." Konoe asserts that Tenma is a "great leader", which causes Tenma to snap. He angrily wonders why Haruto understands Oto's feelings. Tenma looks at Konoe and asks him if he was involved. Konoe lies once again. Tenma remembers the time Oto became "special" to him, when she sat next to him for hours at his mother's funeral. He stops the car, saying that he "should [not] have left [Oto]" by herself.
At the park, Haruto questions whether Oto will be all right at Momonozono with "that little snake." Oto finally admits to Haruto that she is not transferring to Momonozono Academy after all. Haruto's surprise soon turns to happiness as he exclaims, "this make me so happy I could die." As Oto walks away, Haruto hugs her from behind. She tries to pull away and Haruto admits that he still loves her. Tenma is staring at them in shock, before they notice him standing there.
