Sakurako Sanjo trails after Tsukasa Domyoji. He becomes annoyed and shouts "Will you stop following me?!" Sakurako reacts with her usual fake sweet manner, trying to garner sympathy. However, it only serves to irritate him further. He says "Don't think you can trap me by acting like that!" Hurt, Sakurako yells "You mean you prefer someone like Tsukushi?!" and then claims that she will start acting like her. Tsukasa turns around and calmly says "Don't you ever say her name to me again."
Rui Hanazawa brings Tsukushi Makino to his house. In his bedroom, Rui shows her a photo album with pictures of the F4 and Shizuka Todo as children. Seeing Shizuka, Tsukushi thinks "How could I ever compete with such a long history?" Rui then leans towards her, sending Tsukushi into a nervous panic. However, he only falls asleep. Tsukushi waits for two hours before leaving. On her way home, she overhears Akira Mimasaka and Sojiro Nishikado talking about Tsukasa and Sakurako.
Still following Tsukasa, Sakurako asks him if he remembers an "ugly little girl telling you she loved you" whom he called an "ugly dog" in return. She talks about wanting "revenge" on Tsukasa but later realized that she still loved him. Tsukasa feels a commonality with her and starts to laugh, saying "We're weird." Tsukushi, meanwhile, watches them and thinks "That's where I once belonged." Tsukasa asks Sakurako if she wants to stop by his house. She then notices Tsukushi and smirks, before hurrying after him.
Chapter forty-one was originally with a two-page color illustration in Margaret. The image featured Tsukushi and Rui on one half with Tsukasa and Sakurako on the other. It was also included in the art book in 1995 and the fourth volume of the complete edition.
