| Not to be confused with Chapter 4 of Boys Over Flowers Season 2. |
The fourth chapter (第4話) of Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers was released on May 5, 1992. The chapter was published in the eleventh issue of Margaret that year.[1] It was the first chapter to not take place at Eitoku Academy.
Tsukushi Makino finds herself in the middle of a makeover at Tsukasa Domyoji's home salon after being kidnapped by him. Afterwards, he informs Tsukushi that he will allow her to hang around him. Much to his surprise, Tsukushi refuses his offer.
Plot[]
Tsukasa Domyoji kidnaps Tsukushi Makino with the help of his servants. However, she puts up a fight and his men have to knock her out. Tsukushi thinks of Rui Hanazawa's violin playing, before falling asleep. She wakes up sometime later and finds a group of ladies massaging her body. Her attempts to fight them are useless, so she allows them to finish the massage. A stylist arrives afterwards to fix her hair and make-up. She is given a new dress, which she recognizes from a magazine.
Afterwards, Tsukushi is brought into a room where she sees a childhood photo of the F4. Tsukasa walks in and tells her that she is at his house. He shows her a portrait of his sister, commenting that Tsukushi is the complete opposite of her. Tsukasa then says "that even an ordinary girl like [Tsukushi] will shine when polished." He offers to allow her to be around him. Irritated, she declares that "she is not for sale" and storms out. Tsukasa blushes and declares that "starting tomorrow, it all gets worse."
Outside, Tsukushi looks up at Tsukasa's house and wonders if there "is nothing money can't buy." Rui happens to walk by, while on his way home. Before he can leave, she asks him the question she was just thinking of to grab his attention. She immediately attempts to backtrack away from the question. To her surprise, he gives her an answer, "air", and gives her a dazzling smile. Tsukushi blushes as she realizes that there is something money cannot buy, Rui's smile.

Production[]
- The chapter was opened with a black and white illustration of Tsukasa when it was originally published in Margaret.[2] The illustration was included in volume one on a transition page from chapter three to four.
References[]
- In the original version, Tsukasa says "undoro no sa" (うんどろの差) instead of "undei no sa" (雲泥の差;うんでいの差), meaning a "wide difference."[3] In the Viz edition, Tsukasa instead confuses the word "composite" with "opposite."
