The thirty-ninth chapter (
Tsukushi Makino returns home from her trip with a heavy heart. The next day, Tsukasa Domyoji bans Rui Hanazawa from the F4. Tsukushi thinks it is all her fault, but cannot do anything about it. Later, Rui asks her on a date.
Plot[]
After her trip, Tsukushi Makino returns home. Her parents race to the door to greet her. The two happily speculate about her marrying Tsukasa Domyoji one day. Her mother then asks about the progress in their relationship and Tsukushi replies "I hate to disappoint you, but that's not gonna happen in this lifetime." She then closes herself off in her room and remembers the look on Tsukasa's face when he said "You sliced my heart into ribbons."
At school, Tsukushi braces herself, planning to apologize to Tsukasa. Heading towards the third floor, she overhears Akira Mimasaka and Sojiro Nishikado chewing out Rui Hanazawa for what happened. Tsukasa steps in and calmly says "I don't want you in the F4 anymore." However, emotion eventually overwhelms him and he shouts "You're not one of us." Tsukasa then starts walking towards Tsukushi. She is about to apologize to him, but he brushes right past her.
That afternoon, Tsukushi visits Rui at the emergency exit to apologize for everything. He says it is not her fault, adding "I kissed you because I wanted to." Rui then takes her notebook and begins drawing a picture of Tsukasa. Adding her own touches, Tsukushi begins to cry. Rui then asks her out on a date. Tsukushi heads back inside, where Sakurako Sanjo is waiting for her. She declares to Tsukushi that she has always loved Tsukasa and says "You can't stand in my way now!"
