Chapter 37 (第37話 () , Chapter 37) of Boys Over Flowers by Yoko Kamio was published on October 5, 1993 in Margaret. It was followed by chapter thirty-eight which was also published that October. The chapter was the last to be included in the series' sixth volume.

Tsukushi Makino becomes worried about Rui Hanazawa after news of Shizuka Todo's engagement reaches them. She later finds him on the beach. Meanwhile, Tsukasa Domyoji gets increasingly suspicious of the two.

Plot

During a beach volleyball game, Tsukasa Domyoji realizes that Tsukushi Makino lied about going for a walk alone the night before. Distracted, he is hit by a volleyball which was striked by Tsukushi. His friends stand over him asking if he is okay. Sitting up, Tsukasa is about to ask Rui Hanazawa a question but stops himself. A few minutes later, he and Tsukushi are laying on a pair of lounge chairs. He asks about her pager. She is not sure, but tells him "It might be in my room."

The group suddenly hears a loud sound coming from the water. They then spot a boat approaching them with Kazuya Aoike, Sakurako Sanjo, and Thomas on board. Later, Kazuya shows everyone a magazine with an article about Shizuka Todo. It reveals that she is engaged to a Frenchman named Jean P. Mayol. Akira Mimasaka and Sojiro Nishikado are shocked by the news and ask Rui if he knew about it. He answers yes and then walks away after saying "It's all over."

Tsukushi tears up, realizing Shizuka's engagement was the cause of Rui's change. Tsukasa sees her watching Rui intently. That night, Sakurako demands to share Tsukushi and Tsukasa's room. Tsukasa hears Tsukushi leave in the middle of the night. She goes to beach, where she once again sees Rui. He tells her to return to the room. She refuses and confesses "I can't get you out of my mind." Moved by Tsukushi's emotions, Rui leans in to kiss her as he says "Why didn't I fall for a girl like you?"
