Chapter 29 (
Oto Edogawa and Haruto Kaguragi end up riding a Ferris wheel together by accident. Haruto attempts to tell Oto his feelings, which is interrupted by the ride suddenly stopping. The motion causes a child to almost fall out.
Plot
Haruto Kaguragi realizes that he got onto the Ferris wheel with Oto Edogawa by mistake. Oto is concerned about Tenma Hase, who is waiting for her on the ground with Haruto's date Megumi Nishidome. She tells Haruto to "try paying attention sometime", before commenting about him picking fights with Tenma. Oto sees Tokyo Tower in the distance and tells Haruto about her father's dream. Haruto says that it "sounds like something a peasant would dream of."
Meanwhile, Megumi tells Tenma that it was an accident and that Haruto "[is not] under-handed like that." Tenma asks if she if dating Haruto, to which she replies "not yet." A sad look then comes over her face as she asks Tenma "please hold on tight to Oto." Haruto remarks that her father's dream will come true when she marries Tenma. Oto is offended and asks him if he "even like[s] Megumi." She tells him to stop "stringing [Megumi] along." Haruto becomes angry, saying "aren't you stringing me along."
As Haruto is about to declare his feelings to Oto, the Ferris wheel grinds to a stop. Due to the sudden motion, a child falls out of the car below. The child's mother is barely managing to hang on. Below, Tenma quickly doles out orders to the employees. Haruto climbs out of the carriage and makes his way to the child. The Ferris wheel begins working, after he safely returns him to his mother. Haruto falls onto a mattress and Megumi throws her arms around his neck.
