Chapter 24 (第24花 () , Chapter 24), also known as Episode 24 (24話 () , Episode 24), is a chapter of Boys Over Flowers Season 2. The chapter was published simultaneously in Japan and America on March 20, 2016. It was followed by chapter twenty-five on April 3.

Oto Edogawa and Tenma Hase decide to have a casual date for the first time. At an aquarium, they run into Megumi Nishidome, who has a crush on Haruto Kaguragi. After the conversation, Oto asks Tenma to start dating for real.

Plot

As Tenma Hase walks Oto Edogawa home, he mentions that his butler bought opera tickets for their monthly date. He makes Oto laugh, when he tells her that he always sleeps through opera "with [his] eyes open." She then apologizes for her earlier comments, but Tenma is actually glad to see a new side of her. He asks if she shows this side to Haruto Kaguragi. Seeing Tenma's sad face, Oto tries to give him an answer to his confession.

Her mother approaches them, before Oto has a chance to say anything to Tenma. On their way home, Oto's mother promises to return the kimono sash and Oto apologizes for her outburst. The following morning, Oto greets Tenma dressed in casual clothes instead of the outfit his stepmother sent. Tenma wants to dress down too, so Oto brings him to a thrift shop. Dressed in their new clothes, they decide to go to an aquarium. There they meet Megumi Nishidome, who is there for a photo shoot.

Megumi recognizes Oto from school. Megumi tells Oto that she has been unable to stop thinking of Haruto. She asks if it will be okay to continue thinking of him, to which Oto replies "do whatever you want." Oto and Tenma continue on their date. He asks if she is sure about what she said to Megumi. Oto takes Tenma's hand and asks if he still thinks of her "as more than a childhood friend". Tenma tells her that she "always will be very special to [him]." Oto then asks him to "please go out with [her]".

Notes

• Oto comments that Tenma is like Sakana-kun (Mr. Fish), a fish expert on Japanese TV.
• Minor words were changed in the volume release, such as "I took out my anger on you" to "I took my anger out on you."
