Chapter 20 (
Rui Hanazawa becomes upset when he overhears Tsukushi Makino pleading with Shizuka Todo to stay in Japan. After Shizuka boards her plane, Rui reveals that he has decided to go after her. He thanks Tsukushi for her encouragement.
Plot[]
Shizuka Todo kneels down to speak to Tsukushi Makino, who has just begged he to stay in Japan. She explains that "decision-making is like shopping overseas," meaning that she may not get this chance again. Shizuka has decided to go since she does not want to be someone who says "I should have done this or that." Understanding how she feels, Tsukushi apologizes. Shizuka then leaves, after kissing her on the cheek and saying "I like you very much."
Tsukushi turns around to find Rui Hanazawa behind her. Having overheard her conversation with Shizuka, he is extremely angry at her and yells "Who asked you to do that?" Possibly embarrassed, Rui covers his face and says "How could you do such a thing?" Tsukushi replies "But, you looked so sad," to which he says "It's none of your business!" Tsukushi is struck by words, but only leaves when he shouts at her to go. Once she runs off, Rui sits down on the ground with a sad look on his face.
At the airport, Tsukushi waits with Tsukasa Domyoji, Sojiro Nishikado, and Akira Mimasaka. She asks Tsukasa about not expressing your feelings. His reply "That's like saying there was nothing to begin with!" surprises Tsukushi for being simple yet thoughtful. After Shizuka's departure, Rui arrives. Tsukushi tells him to "go after her" and he reveals "I'm taking the next flight." He kisses her forehead and thanks her, before heading off. While watching planes take off, Tsukasa asks Tsukushi on a date.
