Sojiro: "What a joke. She called me out that early just to show me this? Give me a break. So stupid..."
Yuki: "I think probably she's thinking this right now. Jiro, thank you for coming."
Sojiro cries while looking at Sara's message

Chapter 186 (第186話 () ) of Boys Over Flowers by Yoko Kamio was first published in the manga magazine Margaret on September 20, 2000.[1] The chapter was also the last to be collected into the series' twenty-eighth volume. It was preceded by "Story of an Encounter" and followed by chapter one hundred and eighty-seven.

Tsukushi Makino and Tsukasa Domyoji spend an entire day helping Yuki Matsuoka locate Sojiro Nishikado. Yuki brings him to the roof of a building, where Sojiro finally sees the message Sara Hinata wanted to show him long ago.

Plot[]

Exhausted, Tsukushi Makino arrives at Eitoku Academy. The previous night, Tsubaki Domyoji kept her and Tsukasa up all night talking. She was surprised to learn that Tsukushi and Tsukasa had not been on a date yet. Tsubaki told her "There are memories you can only make at your age." Tsukushi sees a happy couple, but feels that she and Tsukasa can never have a "normal kind of love." She then recalls making out with Tsukasa the night before, causing her to blush and do a strange somersault.

Tsukushi receives an urgent call from Yuki Matsuoka asking about Sojiro Nishikado. Looking around, she spots Tsukasa and Rui Hanazawa and asks about Sojiro, but neither have seen him. Tsukasa then calls Sojiro, but cannot reach him. After hanging up, Tsukushi decides to go searching for Sojiro. Worried about the secret police, she asks Rui to go with her. Tsukasa, however, immediately says "I'll go with you." They search until four thirty in the morning. Sojiro then walks up by chance and Tsukushi shouts "Found you!"

Once Sojiro and Yuki are gone, Tsukasa reveals "I have something really important to say to you too." Yuki, meanwhile, is rushing Sojiro to a building. As they approach the stairs, Sojiro remembers Sara Hinata's smiling face. On the rooftop, Yuki points into the distance. The sunrise obscures the names of two buildings, reading "Sukiya Jiro" ("I love Jiro"). Sojiro tries to laugh it off at first, but then begins crying. Yuki says some comforting words. At the same time, Tsukasa shows Tsukushi two tickets to New York.

Character appearances[]

Notes[]

  • The glare from the sunrise causes the names of the buildings, "Ishida-ya no Sukiyaki" (石田屋のすきやき) and "Cafe Jiro" (CAFE ジロウ) to read "Sukiya Jiro," translating to "I love Jiro."
