"Why don't you give up on him and choose me, instead? Seriously, I can guarantee that we'll get along a lot better than you did with him. I'll understand you a lot better that he ever would."
Kiyonaga to Tsukushi

Chapter 158 (第158話 () ) of Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers was originally released in the tenth issue of Margaret on April 20, 1999. It was followed by chapter one hundred and fifty-nine the following month. The chapter was collected into volume twenty-four of the series.

Shigeru Okawahara and Sakurako Sanjo learn that there is something up with Kiyonaga. Tsukasa Domyoji convinces Tama to take him to meet his cousin. Kiyonaga, meanwhile, tells Tsukushi Makino to "choose" him instead of Tsukasa.

Plot

Earlier, Sakurako Sanjo and Shigeru Okawahara ran into the guys from their group date. They revealed that Kiyonaga paid them to go on the group date. Presently, Shigeru voices her suspicions that he has fallen for Tsukushi Makino. Sakurako feels it is something else. Meanwhile, Tsukasa Domyoji demands for Tama to tell him where Kiyonaga lives. She agrees, but only after he asks nicely. Tsubaki Domyoji feels that Tama is being "too soft." She replies "If his love should crumble and fall, we should be there for him."

Instead of taking a car, Tsukasa decides to take the train. He, Tsubaki, and Akira Mimasaka all have trouble at the station. Tama buys their tickets and they board the train. Tsukasa eventually asks Akira "I'm not very different from these other guys on the train, am I?" Akira answers "I'd say the difference is like night and day," which annoys Tsukasa. He then bangs on the train door, yelling for it to speed up. At the same time, Tsukushi returns home after job hunting. She is greeted by Kiyonaga waiting outside for her.

Kiyonaga returns Tsukushi's necklace, which she forgot about. He jokes "You're not really cut out for being in love." The conversation turns to Tsukasa, making Kiyonaga troubled when she says they are similar. He asks her "Why don't you give up on him and choose me, instead?" Tsukushi thinks he is joking, before asserting that she will have nothing to do with the Domyojis. He replies that they have "no connection." Meanwhile, Tsukasa and the others arrive at their destination and meet his real cousin.
