Chapter 135 (第135話 () , Chapter 135) of Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers was published in Margaret No.8 on March 20, 1998. It also marked the sixth anniversary of the series. The chapter was collected into volume twenty-one. It was followed by chapter one hundred and thirty-six in April 1998.

Tsukushi Makino is feeling stressed, thanks to Kaede Domyoji's reappearance. She and Tsukasa Domyoji skip school to go to a cafe together. There Tsukasa reveals his plans to leave his family's home.

Plot

Tsukushi Makino walks to school, feeling as if her legs are "made of lead." She thinks of Tama's plan of her to get pregnant with Tsukasa Domyoji's baby. Her frustration is obvious to Kazuya Aoike and Sakurako Sanjo, the latter of whom makes a comment about Tsukushi looking "haggard." She realizes that the "hardships have taken their toll on [her]," but pretends to be fine anyway. Tsukushi then asks them if they want to hang out after school. Kazuya is enthusiastic about it, but Tsukasa arrives and cuts him off.

Tsukasa questions Tsukushi about her disappearance from the hotel. She pulls him outside and tells him that she spent the night in Tama's room, but refuses to elaborate further. Tsukasa then decides that they should skip school and takes her to the café that she wanted to go to. There Tsukushi orders a parfait. She feeds him a bite of it and blushes as she watches his lips. Tsukasa again asks about what happened the night before. Tsukushi continues to insist that it was "nothing," telling Tsukasa the bare minimum.

Tsukushi changes the conversation to Tsukasa's mother and father. Then he suddenly announces "I'm leaving home." Tsukushi is taken aback, before asking "What do you imagine it'll be like?" She tries to be realistic with him about living on his own. Tsukasa, however, quickly becomes irritated and finally confesses "If I don't leave home, I won't be able to protect you, will I?" Surprised, Tsukushi blushes and says his name. Meanwhile, Tsukasa's mother reads an investigative report about Tsukushi.
