Chapter 106 (第106話 () , Chapter 106) of Yoko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers was first released in the manga magazine, Margaret, in late November 1996. It was succeeded by chapter one hundred and seven the following December and was later included in the series' seventeenth volume.

Shigeru Okawahara drags Tsukushi Makino along on a shopping spree. She thinks Shigeru is very different from the other rich girls she knows. Later, Tsukushi breaks things off with Tsukasa Domyoji who then slaps her.

Plot

Rui Hanazawa turns around and notices Tsukushi Makino's face is red. As he approaches her, she starts to turn pale. Rui puts his hand her forehead, leading her to use her foot to push him away. Rui comments that now he can see her panties. To cover herself up, she starts falling in a weird way. He catches her before her head can hit the wall. However, upon seeing her blushing, he lets go. He then walks off, saying "Don't look at me like that." Her heart beats fast as she wonders "What the hell am I doing?!"

Later, Tsukushi is surprised to see Shigeru Okawahara waiting for her outside her house. She drags Tsukushi to go shopping with her. At the store, Shigeru asks about Tsukasa Domyoji's type. She replies "He likes himself best," which makes Shigeru laugh. Tsukushi sees an outfit she likes, though it is too expensive. On their way home, Shigeru asks Tsukushi if she has someone she likes. She says "Not now..." but describes her past crush. When they part ways, Shigeru gives her the outfit from earlier.

Tsukushi returns home, where she now finds Tsukasa waiting. He asks her to follow him to a park, where he attempts to explain everything. When she sneezes, he puts his coat around her shoulders. She returns it, feeling guilty about what happened with Rui. Tsukushi then tells him that she was just with Shigeru. She says nice things about her, concluding "I think someone like her is what you need." Tsukasa then slaps her. Tsukushi thinks "I hate guys who are abusive but I think I've behaved just as badly toward him"
