Boys Over Flowers Wiki

Below is a set of rules that are set and expected to be followed as long as you participate in editing Boys Over Flowers Wiki. These guidelines apply to adding images, making pages, editing the Wiki, and interactions with other users. These policies are subject to fine-tuning in order to make them as fair and clear as possible. Additionally, they do not represent all of Fandom's community guidelines.

Contact this wiki's administrator Samanthafan09 with any questions.

General policies

  • Respect others: All users, regardless of status, are required to show respect to others at all times. No slander, harassment, or insults will be tolerated at any time. If you need to criticize another user's argument, do so without attacking them as a person. Do not use bigoted language, including slurs which degrade another person or group of people based on gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc.
  • No vandalism: forms of vandalism range from deleting a portion of the page without proper reason to adding gibberish or foul language. This also includes spamming links to other websites.
  • Be a productive member of the wiki: contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. Need help? Ask an administrator! Disrupting the wiki with "edit warring" over differing opinions of a topic with another user or group of users is not productive.
  • Do not engage in excessive self-promotion: This wiki is a collaborative community resource for the topic at hand. It is NOT a free place to advertise your related website, YouTube channel, blog, social media account, etc. Have a question about whether your link would be welcome? Ask an administrator!
  • Banning: If you violate any of the wiki's policies you are subject to being banned, though users will almost always be warned once (except in cases of vandalism, spamming, etc.). An offender's first ban is usually between two weeks to a month, depending on a number of factors. The user's intentions coupled with the violation and whether the user has ignored warnings are all taken into account. Users can appeal their ban on their message wall. Repeat offenders are subject to a lifetime ban.
  • Commenting: Comments are to be utilized to discuss the article's subject or changes to the article. Additionally, any inappropriate or spam comments are not allowed on this wiki and will result in an automatic ban.

Editing policies

  • Do follow community guidelines for formatting: When a community has established formatting, it's important to adhere to that.
  • Creating pages: The wiki hosts pages on many topics relating to Boys Over Flowers, such as chapters, episodes, real-life people, and characters. However, there are some kinds of pages that should not be created on the Wiki which includes family tree pages, pairing pages and/or character relationship pages. Any red-linked pages that are created for the sake of creation (i.e. leaving it a blank page) are subject to deletion until the page can be properly created.
  • Editing: All information edited into a page must be written in the user's own words. Do not copy information word-for-word from other websites.
  • Structure: All the pages on the wiki have a distinct structure, particularly for character pages. As such, a user's work may be undone or "rollbacked" if said user fails to follow the wiki's structure. For good examples on how articles should be structured see: Tsukushi Makino (drama) and Oto Edogawa (for characters), Meteor Garden (for a television drama), Hana Sugisaki and Jun Matsumoto (for real people).
  • Sources: for the most part, all information on the wiki should be sourced. Here's an example: Vachirawit Chivaaree was born on December 27, 1997.<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmYyHDxehO0</ref> Edits without sources are likely to be rollbacked.
  • Upcoming productions: When editing pages of upcoming content, rumors and speculation should not be posted. Only sourced information will be allowed and the content will be removed if not sourced. You are free to speculate in Discussions if you feel the need to.
  • Currently airing productions: When editing pages of content that is currently airing, only include information up to the current episode.
  • Templates: It is generally frowned upon for normal users to edit templates without administrator permission. Edit only in cases of fixing errors in a template. If the template is protected, contact an administrator to ask them to fix the error.
  • Badges: Do not make a lot of edits or add new categories just to earn badges. Badges are not the reason to edit this or any other wiki.

Image and video policies

  • All images must directly relate to the wiki's subject: Examples being screenshots from manga, anime and various shows. Fanart is not allowed on the wiki unless it is posted in Discussions.
  • Profile images: profile images (including manga characters and real life people) must be cropped to 400 x 500 if placed in an infobox. Other dimensions such as 300 x 400 or 300 x 300 may be used for very minor manga characters. For objects and locations, image should be cropped but there are no required dimensions.
  • Do not upload images just to place on a user page: These images will be deleted. Instead the user is allowed to use any of the wiki's available images on their page. Alternatively, they can upload images on the Community Wiki and place them in a template, which can then be linked a user page.
  • Naming: Give an image a proper name and not anything random, though make sure the name is not already in use.
  • License: When uploading an image, please license it properly (e.g. Template:Fairuse).
  • Categorizing: Images all go into Category:Images. There are image categories for actors and characters, such as Category:Images of Tsukushi Makino.
  • Videos: The above image policy applies to all videos, though it should be noted that they are not meant to be placed on character pages.
  • No galleries on character or actor pages: These images are instead put into categories, such as "Images of Tsukasa Domyoji" or "Category:Images of Lee Min-ho".
  • Gallery pages: Currently the wiki allows separate gallery pages for select subjects, particularly the adaptations of Boys Over Flowers. These pages are to provide an easy reference to promotional photos, and various hard-to-find images. See Boys Over Flowers: The Musical/Gallery for a good example and Category:Galleries for a full list of galleries on the wiki.
    • Small galleries are allowed on most pages (excluding the aforementioned character and actor pages), though the amount of images should be limited to less than 25. The promotion pages are an exception to this rule.
    • Screenshots are not currently permitted on the galleries. Instead they go in categories, see Category:Images from Boys Over Flowers (anime).

Notability guidelines

Certain subjects must meet a criteria to warrant an article on this wiki.

  • Anything related to Boys Over Flowers, Boys Over Flowers Season 2, or Yoko Kamio can warrant a page. For example, Kamio held a lecture in 2021, during which she talks about Boys Over Flowers.
    • Other articles, such as Cat Street and Crown of Thorns, are allowed because of their relation to Kamio though they are only indirectly to Boys Over Flowers.
  • Any actor who has participated in an adaptation of Boys Over Flowers is considered notable, especially if there is a character page to link them to.
  • Unnamed characters are only allowed if their presence has a significance to the plot and/or character, or otherwise has multiple mentions/appearances in the adaptations. For example, Junpei Oribe's friend, Rui Hanazawa's father, and Fortuneteller.
  • Most fandom related things, such as fanfiction, podcasts, etc., are not considered notable enough for a page. However, some parodies/tributes are notable enough for a mention on the pop culture page.
  • Additionally, read the universe policy to know what pages should be split into universes.

Other

  • Our content should not be posted on other websites without permission. Neither should unauthorized content be posted on ours. This includes Wikipedia if the template, {{Wikipedia}} is not added to the top of a page.
  • There are very few policies which apply across all Fandom. These can be found on the Community Wiki at Category:Policy.
