Summary[]
Tsukushi Makino has a dream of Tsukasa Domyoji, imagining their reunion going the opposite way that it went. She wanders into the kitchen of Rui Hanazawa's New York condo. Rui and Tsukushi are discussing Domyoji Group's problems when he suddenly kisses her. Though Tsukushi is reasonably flustered, Rui calmly comes to the decision that he is in love with her.[3] Later, Tsukushi and Rui take Thomas and his friends to a restaurant. After they finish eating, Rui realizes that he has lost his wallet. Thomas flees with his friends, while they stay behind to clean. Tsukushi mentions Shizuka Todo and Rui reveals that their relationship ended in Canada. He tells Tsukushi that since meeting her a change has come over him.[4]
The next morning, Tsukushi and Rui head over to Central Park where she meets the same businessman from the other day. Rui translates for the man, revealing that he is having trouble getting along with a business partner. Tsukushi tells him "'I'm sorry' and 'Thank you' are magical words," encouraging him to make up with the person. The businessman then invites them to his building for lunch. Tsukushi meets Kaede Domyoji in the bathroom; she accuses her of interfering with the merger. Back in the lobby, Kaede and the businessman begin arguing. Tsukushi intervenes, revealing that she also "despises" Kaede but encourages them to resolve their conflict. Afterwards, Tsukushi decides to go back to Japan with Rui.[5]
After packing, Tsukushi and Rui come to the airport. The businessman hurries over to her to say goodbye. Next, they are stopped by Kaede who says some cross words that irritate Tsukushi. She finally admits "I'm in [Tsukushi's] debt," referring to the merger going through. Kaede then says that she will "grant [her] one wish." Tsukushi tells her that she wants Tsukasa to keep his promise. Kaede agrees and leaves.[6] Meanwhile, Tsukasa rushes to the airport after Tama informs him of Tsukushi's flight. When he arrives, he sees Rui kissing her forehead which leads to a confrontation. Rui yells at him for his recent behavior. Tsukushi says "You have to keep your promise" to Tsukasa, before leaving with Rui.[7]
Back in Japan, Tsukushi is greeted by Sojiro Nishikado, Akira Mimasaka, Sakurako Sanjo, and Shigeru Okawahara at her place. She reveals to them that she and Tsukasa have broken up. Over the next few days, life for Tsukushi seemingly goes back to normal as she attends school and her two part-time jobs. One day, while heading to work, she meets Tsukasa who was waiting for her.[8] With bittersweet feelings, the two proceed to have their final date. After shopping for ingredients, they go to Tsukushi's apartment where she makes a hotpot. Suddenly, some men walk inside and proceed to tase Tsukasa, which renders him unconscious. He wakes up later to find himself and Tsukushi on a boat.[9]
